Youth Red Cross, Kerala is the young and vibrant wing of the Indian Red Cross Society-Kerala State Kottayam Branch functioning in all Colleges and universities. The fundamental Principals of the Red Cross viz., Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality are to be taught among youth to serve society. Those who are studying up to the 11th standard, and who are studying in colleges may join as Youth Red Cross Members. Youth Red Cross provides opportunities and facilities for youth to be trained in various skills like leadership and management, community service and so on, which will help them to lead society. It also aims at the empowerment of youths so that they may not remain idle but take initiative in improving the socio-economic condition of their community. The Youth Programmes help the Indian Red Cross Society to disseminate the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement through:-
The District Branches are requested to coordinate with Regional Joint Directors, Principals of respective Business Schools, Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic Colleges, and ITI's Youth Red Cross and to compile the database of members of the Youth Groups at the District Level for organizing the programmes.
